Lucky 13 cultivates its oysters in two acres of pristine water at the junction of the Fire Island Inlet and the Great South Bay, world-famous since the late-1800’s for its Blue Point Oysters. The site benefits from the tidal influx of saline-rich Atlantic Ocean water from a natural inlet at the westernmost end of Fire Island, as well as the planktonic diversity provided by a shallow bay. We are nestled between Sexton Island, part of the Fire Island National Seashore, to the south and an unnamed and uninhabited grassy island to the north. Our parcel is ideally located on Long Island’s South Shore, halfway between Manhattan and the Hamptons.
